honor what honor?

mcsame can't define honor. That's rich. This fucking guy is unbelievable. You have to read it to believe it.
What do you want voters to know coming out of the Republican Convention — about you, about your candidacy?

I'm prepared to be President of the United States, and I'll put my country first.

There's a theme that recurs in your books and your speeches, both about putting country first but also about honor. I wonder if you could define honor for us?
Read it in my books.

I've read your books.
No, I'm not going to define it.

But honor in politics?
I defined it in five books. Read my books.

Maybe he should have had them ask his staff?

wednesday night music

John Doe- fourth of july

at least we know who to blame

Michael Dukakis takes responsibility for the shrub.

Look, I owe the American people an apology. If I had beaten the old man you’d of never heard of the kid and you wouldn’t be in this mess. So it’s all my fault and I feel that very, very strongly.

the history of home runs

249,675 home runs have been hit since 1876.

I'm just a guy...

So I have gone, in one week, from haha, hc, and gk loving me to not really talking to me. The weirdness being that I have not done anything different.

Well there are some lines that can't be crossed
And sometimes those lines get lost
Cracker- Duty Free

Which leads to the inevitable and impenetrable defense, "I'm just a guy tryin' to get through the world..." Which seems kinda lame nowadays. I don't really have much to say about it which is why I don't write posts about me, but whatev.

tuesday night music

Bob Seger- still the same

65 posts

this is my 65th post of August. Yes, I am on fire. Imagine when we get out of this horribly boring month what I'll be able to do. But unfortunately I've got nothin' today. So go forth and multiply, motherfuckers.

monday night music

Gary Glitter- Rock and Roll pt. 2

mcsame lies and media acts as accomplice

TPM has it here.

It really is a mystery how the corporate journalist are able to sleep at night. They spent eight years perpetuating shrub's lies, and are prepared to do the same for mcsame. Liberal media indeed.

it is over, it is really over

The olympics I mean, thank god.

More hatin' on the olympics.

10 reasons to hate the olympics.
Google.

Update: Of course the only thing more boring than the olympics is political conventions. The democratic convention starts tonight in Denver. Uhg!

bringing the snark

Roger Ailes does it.

The McCain campaign keeps emphasizing that McCain was a prisoner in Vietnam, as proof of his qualification for the Presidency.

Well, so was Gary Glitter, and I'm not voting for him either.

thursday night music

Patti Smith- Gimme Shelter

things i didn't know about mcsame

He was a POW! Really, and that makes him being obscenely rich ok. The republic party has apparently forgotten even the most basic debating skills. But that is ok because as Ezra says they have the most powerful argument ever. "A noun, a verb, a POW!"

Because you know like getting shot down is awesome.

bleg

I am having an issue with my mozilla. It won't play youtube videos and such. The vids work with IE but i hate IE. Anyone....???

wednesday night music: bobby plant bday edition

Led Zeppelin- Hey, Hey what can I do

Happy 60th Mr. Plant.

430 demographics

Latest Poll Reveals 430 New Demographics That Will Decide Election

on a lighter note

I like the city of Baltimore but this definitely raises eyebrows. And the KSK headline is classic.

At the Intersection of Dipsh*t Avenue and F*cktard Drive

obama should watch this

This* is the kind of stuff he needs to be doing.

*i'm not sure where this was said. The conservative blogger I linked to has to links to articles that do not have the quotes so it possible it is not authentic.

ouch!

A LT. Colonel(ret) responds to mcsame's blogger.

This has to hurt.

Yes, Mr. Goldfarb, I play Dungeons and Dragons. And I have, in my home, a very large box filled with medals and decorations that prove my service to this nation. Where were you, sir, when your country called? Oh yes, writing for the Weekly Standard.

While gaming geeks rallied around the flag.

the politics of fear

Here is a good explanation of mcsame's crackpot foreign policy views. Matt Yglesias points out mcsame's response to everything makes chicken little look rational.

I think that Matt and Max miss the larger point here. The key to this sort of attitude is to instill fear. If mcsame claims that everytime a fly farts that it is the greatest. threat. to. our. future.EVER. Then people will turn to him to save them from the great insect gas menace.

To reasonable people this might seem odd, but in america if you want things done you sell fear. More than any other form of marketing, fear is the weapon of both 21st corporations and politicians.
That is the point of the mcsame's hysteria.
