With due respect, I think tonight was a disaster for our side.  I'm dumbfounded that no one else seems to think so.  Obama did everything he needed to do, McCain did nothing he needed to do.  What am I missing?

But in retrospect I have to say that I think Obama did better than it seemed at the time. This morning, my strongest impression is that McCain seemed to be trying too hard to close the deal, and frustrated that it wasn't happening. Obama, despite a lot of stammering and some ill-advised references to Delaware, seemed a lot more comfortable. I think he passed the threshold acceptability test with the audience, which -- for people looking for "change" -- is probably enough.

Alot of people, including Obama supporter Andrew Sullivan and of course Lady Wingnut herself K-Lo, are upset about this ad.  I find this to be silly.  Rush Limbaugh is the Republican base, especially on immigration, mcsame is the Republican canidate for president, ergo one can expect mcsame to enact policies that please the base of his party whether he agrees with them or not.  Of course complaints from the wingnuts are absurd given that they have spent all summer trying to morph Obama into William Ayers or Reverend Wright.  Which furthers the point I made in this post.

p.s.  the subtitle to K-lo's peice actually made me laugh out loud. What a maroon.

• Alaska has a budget revenues of $13,559,800, $3,742,30 of which is Federal dollars. 
• 1 in 3 jobs in Alaska depend on Federal revenue.  
• Sarah Palin secured $27 million in earmarks while mayor of Wasilla. 
• Alaska is number one in per capita pork spending.

Will anyone ask the so-called pitbull hockey mom about why her state hates America and keeps taking Federal money. I doubt it because the press are essentially extentions of the Republicansand their wingnut buddies. I find this whole process demoralizing, after 8 years morontacracy we might elect the same people is astonishing.
