Yipeekiyay Motherfucker!!!

I went to see Live Free or Die Hard yesterday, it was awesome. Obviously it is not going to win any Oscars but John McClane is bad ass.

The new Ryan Adam's album is out (I Already got tickets to his Salt City show on July 31, Anyone wanna go?) , as well as Kelly Willis'. They are both good but I haven't listened to them enough to know exactly how good. I'll let you know.

Thats about all I have. Nothing much happening, maybe I can round some blogworthy material/events at the 7EO tonight. I'll leave you with this, as my least favorite month ends.

Camper Van Beethoven:
June

Are you weary of the lengthening days?
D' y' secretly wish for November's rain?
And the harvest moon to reign in the sky (now that it's June)
There is nothing in this world more bitter than Spring

Now I wrote you this letter
'cause the clothes were hung on the line
And the crows flew out of the field
And up into the sky

I'm lying here in the station
Stretching out on the tracks
Are all the possible places that I might arrive

There is nothing in this world more bitter than love
In all (in all) those long days of June
Bring me the long, brown grass now that it's dry
There is nothing in this world more bitter than Spring

I'm back!

It has been a long week... Started on Sunday with a 16 hour shift at the 7EO. Btw, this should not be attempted by people who are not outta their minds. Here is a quick rundown of the rest of the week.

  • The Wii is awesome. Can't wait till more games come out on it.
  • The Sopranos ending was great, all you haters need to chill the fuck out and give love to the third best show ever on television.
  • The Spurs are clearly one of the best teams ever. Is Lebron? Leave The Man Alone does not think so, and I tend to agree.
  • The Mets were swept by the Dodgers and have lost five straight going into the subway series. Not a good look for them, at all. But there is hope if they MAN UP!
  • In related news, the Yanks are only 71/2 games behind the the Bled Sox. Too bad they have to play the Mets this weekend. Hopefully the Sox will lose their series to the Giants. That would be sweet.
  • My favorite Summer show, Hell's Kitchen is on again. The big question is, will Aaron stop crying long enough to make it through next week?
  • Read The Exile by Allan Folsom this week. A good book.
  • This week's moment of tard. Tony Snow says Bush is on the Frontlines....

Why do reporters let them get away with this kind of shit. These people are reprehensible.
So brothers and sisters, that is my week in a minute. Have a great weekend!

I don't know.

Apparently the hardest words in the English language. That said, check this out. Home schooling rocks.

This is why you don't home school your children.

i am not sure wether this says more about the decline of the the American education system, or the decline of the media, but this interview is horrible.

Buena Vista (Good Looks)

The Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco is the home of the best Irish Coffee in the world.

I miss the ocean. I find people shake their heads at me because I eat crabs with a mallet. That doesn't bother as much as the long days of June. All the cities I've seen and the few that I know, weathered and corrupt by the time I saw them. Who calls me and why, and whence I come?

Its fine if the snow never leaves the trees. Around this corner... Stop! What is all this gibberish?

SAY SOMETHING....

Not likely, maybe tomorrow...

If you can hear me, maybe tomorrow.

Miscellany

  • Lozo has odds on who whacks Tony Soprano.
  • NOISB has some support for Shef, who has taking a lot of heat for saying Black players are not sought after in the MLB because latin players are more pliable. Although he is not the most articulate guy, he has a point. How else can you explain Julio Franco still having a job, while Rickey B does not?
  • Yglesias has the Knocked Up critique of Brokeback Mountain. Never seen either movie but it sounds reasonable to me.
  • pants plz This site is just funny and dominated by cats, my favorite animal.
  • Lasting Milledge Facts. Thats for all you Mets' Fans

That is all I have right now and I don't know why I am typing in bold print, but as my favorite bartendress says, "Not my problem!"

Homicide quote of the ...whatever

Det. Frank Pembleton: "You know, every day I get out of bed and drag myself to the next cup of coffee. I take a sip and the caffeine kicks in. I can focus my eyes again. My brain starts to order the day. I'm up, I'm alive. I'm ready to rock. But the time is coming when I wake up and decide that I'm not getting out of bed. Not for coffee, or food or sex. If it comes to me, fine. If it won't, fine. No more expectations. The longer I live, the less I know. I should know more. I should know the coffee's killing me. You're suspicious of your suspicions? I'm jealous, Kay; I'm so jealous. You still have the heart to have doubts. Me? I'm going to lock up a 14-year-old kid for what could be the rest of his natural life. I got to do this. This is my job. This is the deal. This is the law. This is my day. I have no doubts or suspicions about it. Heart has nothing to do with it any more. It's all in the caffeine."
